EL JardIn Del Paraiso community park and garden
|
This work was my second experiment with a collective aesthetic. In this project with Perre DiCarlo our main public collaborators were school children. Following is an excerpt from the article that can be found in full on the "La Plaza Cultural" page. The excerpt describes the context of our work with "El Jardin Del Paraiso". |
Students created a map of the school and
adjacent neighborhood including the garden and park.
The students did this after taking measurements with a
measuring wheel.
Students learned sight measuring techniques to determine
the heights of all of the buildings in the neighborhood.

The student's maps and measurements were used
to make the pieces of a wooden model.
Then the students assembled the model.

The students applied color to the model,

The students created scale trees for the model
